Women’s History Month Day of Service: March 27, 2021
The Mino Learning Collaborative hosted a free virtual speaker series for Women’s History Month. Our speakers spoke to their reflections as education leaders and shared best practices for educators who wish to broaden their impact as ed-leaders, teacher-advocates, or in policy at large.
Our speakers were:
Luisa Santos, District 9 School Board Member, Miami Dade County Public Schools
Kayla Johnson, Founding School Leader of Royalty Academy a.k.a the “Pandemic Principal”
Alexandria Martin, Educator, United Teachers of Dade Executive Board Member, Co-Chair of the MDCPS IPEGS committee, Union Steward
The Mino Learning Collaborative closed the month by honoring community advocate and co-founder of the Village (FREE)dge, Sherina Jones. Sherina is a fearless advocate for our families and oversees the operations of 3 community fridges in communities of color in South Florida. The Mino Learning Collaborative donated non-perishable items to the fridge and organized a group of volunteers from 9am-2pm.
